Jack L comes to Roscommon Arts Centre with Chez Jack L

A few years back, the man with the velvety voice, Jack L, performed a show called Chez Jack L, based on the music of a composer he admired greatly, Jacque Brel. It was an astonishing show and an enormous hit. Scheduled to run for three weeks in Dublin, the original show ran for four sell-out months followed by a smash hit run throughout Ireland and Europe.

Beezneez Theatre Company presents United

When the radio version of John McDwyer’s play, United, was performed on RTE, it was so well received that it was repeated within a month and the stage version is proving to be just as popular. Beezneez opened this tour to three standing ovations in Longford and the production is ranking with the best ever produced by this consistently excellent company. United now plays in Roscommon Arts Centre on Tuesday and Wednesday November 8 and 9 at 8pm.

‘Fables’ group exhibition in Roscommon

A group exhibition by artists Peter Burns, Anne Hendrick, and Mary Noonan opens next Thursday November 10 at The Gallery, Roscommon Arts Centre. The opening reception is from 5.30-7pm and all are welcome. The exhibition continues until December 15 and access is during centre opening hours. As always, access to the gallery is completely free of charge.

Gavin Hogg is a painter and printmaker. A new exhibition of his recent works entitled ‘The Sea Inside’ opens at The Gallery in Roscommon Arts Centre this Friday September 23 from 5.30-7pm. All are welcome.

Abbey Theatre brings ‘B for Baby’ to Roscommon Arts Centre

The Abbey Theatre, Ireland’s national theatre, is delighted to announce the nationwide tour of Carmel Winters’ much applauded production of B for Baby from August to November of this year. Directed by Mikel Murfi, the first stage of the B for Baby tour started on Thursday August 4 in the Tampere Theatre Festival in Finland. From there the tour returned to Ireland to begin the nationwide run, covering the length and breadth of Ireland, taking in 14 venues in total. These include theatres in Meath, Laois, Louth, Kerry, Antrim, Donegal, Sligo, Waterford, Carlow, Wicklow, Longford, Cork, Galway, Dublin and of course, Roscommon with a performance at Roscommon Arts Centre on Friday September 30 and Saturday October 1 at 8pm.
